Immutable Proof of Existence

With IP for ALL, you can:

• ✓ Prove that a file existed at a specific moment in time
• ✓ Receive timestamped proof
• ✓ Verify authenticity at any time
• ✓ Share this proof with third parties

How it works

1. You have a file on your computer or device

   💡 Strongly Recommended: Before generating a hash, embed the following identity information directly into your file or its metadata:

   • Author: Your full name
   • Email: Your email address (preferably the one used for your IP for ALL account)
   • Wallet: Your crypto wallet address
   • Created: The last saved date of the file

   Finally, make your file read-only to lock it. (To learn how to add info to metadata and make a file read-only, see the corresponding section in our FAQ below).

2. You create a unique cryptographic "fingerprint" of the file — a hash (this can be done directly in your browser using IP for ALL)
3. IP for ALL records your hash on the NEAR blockchain
4. A record with the timestamp and verification data appears in your IP for ALL Dashboard
5. You can use this data as proof that the file already existed at that moment in time

To confirm authorship or prove the existence of a file, you only need to:
Provide the original file
Provide a link to the blockchain record or data from your Dashboard

Why is this better than traditional methods?

In the past, protecting digital work was often either expensive, complicated, or unreliable.

Reliability is based on three principles:
Cryptography — every file has a unique hash
Immutability — blockchain records cannot be changed afterward
Independence — data can be verified without relying on IP for ALL

This is not "absolute protection," but forging or altering such a record is extremely difficult in practice and economically unrealistic.

When is this especially useful?

• ✓ In authorship disputes

Limitations (important)

IP for ALL:

• Does not prevent file copying
• Does not replace legal expertise or court proceedings
• Records the existence of a file, not ownership rights

However, this type of timestamped proof is often used as supporting evidence in disputes.

Technical limitation: currently there is a limit of up to 10 hashes per user per day.

How much effort does it require?

After registration and email confirmation:

• Creating a hash takes less than a minute
• Recording your hash on the NEAR blockchain takes up to 15 minutes (because blockchain transactions are not free, IP for ALL batches hashes from multiple users together)
• No blockchain knowledge is required
